INDIANAPOLIS — A 9-year-old LaGrange County girl has been taken to Riley Hospital for Children-IU Health in Indianapolis after she and four others were injured in a two-car crash west of Middlebury Friday afternoon.
Alia Villalobos of LaGrange is listed in critical condition two days after the collision at the S.R. 15/U.S. 20 intersection, a hospital spokesman told WSBT.
Elkhart County police say the driver of their car, 28-year-old Laura Ryan of LaGrange, was taken to Goshen General Hospital along with 2-year-old Darwin Villalobos, 7-year-old George Ryan and 9-year-old Kitana Ryan. Alia was airlifted to Memorial Hospital in South Bend before being moved to Riley. Everybody but Alia was treated and released.
All the children and the driver were buckled up. So was 30-year-old Jacob Mitchell of Mishawaka, who was driving the other car and was not hurt.
