INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Police say a 30-year-old man was fatally shot inside a pickup truck at a convenience store on the west side of Indianapolis.
Officers were called to the store about 3 a.m. Friday, where the passenger in the truck was shot while it was stopped at a gasoline pump.
Speedway police Sgt. Jim Thiele says investigators were looking for a car that sped away from the store. Thiele says the slain man and a friend driving the truck stopped at the store after leaving a nearby nightclub but that investigators didn't immediately know whether the shooting stemmed from something that happened there.
Police say the pickup truck's driver wasn't hurt. Numerous shell casings were found on the ground near the truck.
