A Notre Dame pre-med student is being described as a "person of interest" in his father's disappearance. His father also attended the University of Notre Dame.
21-year-old Patrick Mikes Jr., of Troy, Michigan is also facing three separate felony counts for illegally using credit cards that belonged to his 16-year-old brother.
Currently Mikes Jr. has not been charged in the disappearance of his father. Police say the 21-year-old told them his father left their Michigan home, which is about 20 miles north of Detroit, for a bike ride Friday and never returned.
But Mikes Jr. did not report the disappearance to police until Sunday.
Patrick Mikes Sr. is still missing. Police have found neither him nor his body.
The younger Mikes was in court on Wednesday on those felony credit card charges. He's accused of buying single movie tickets and dinner at a local restaurant.
According to the Detroit Free Press, a judge ordered Mikes Jr. to stay in the state, not attend classes at Notre Dame when they begin in the fall and to stay away from his family's home.
