BERRIEN COUNTY -- Remember the Berrien County family whose dog was stolen, but the thieves were "nice" enough to leave a note? The owner tells us she thinks she has him back, and is expected to find out for sure today.
Back in June the family found a typed note in Aspen's doghouse. The person accused them of neglecting the Alaskan Husky, and were not happy the dog was outside in the extreme heat.
The family lives on Napier Avenue in the Benton Harbor area.
Adriana Perez tells us a rescue shelter in South Bend called to tell her they thought they had Aspen. She picked him up and says Tuesday the Humane Society is going to check the dog's microchip to verify.
Perez says the dog acts differently and has shorter hair, but she thinks it's Aspen.
Stay tuned, we'll let you know what happens.
