Pigskin Preview: South Bend Riley Wildcats

August 15, 2012|by Pete Byrne (pmbyrne@wsbt.com)

SOUTH BEND - Entering his second season at head coach at South Bend Riley, Brian Stultz hopes to see significant improvements from his Wildcat football team.

"Last year we were just trying to get everything installed," Stultz says about the trials of his first year, in which Riley went 3-8.

"Now it's time to put it to the test this year and get some wins."

Any success the `Cats have this season will likely be a bi-product of a strong rushing attack.

2011 all-state honorable mention RB Mike Anderson is back for his senior year, and eager to improve on a 1200-plus yard, 16 touchdown junior campaign.

"Our biggest strength is our speed and big guys," Anderson says, crediting his offensive line.

"We've got a lot of power up front and we like to run."
