David McCoy joined WSBT-TV in March 2010 as the weekend sports anchor.
David grew up in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. When he was in second grade, his teacher asked his classmates what they each thought was the best job in the world. David said it had to be, without a doubt, being a sports broadcaster.
As David grew up, his love for sports grew stronger. Ten years after telling the class what the best job in the world was, David called the program director at the local radio station (WHBL) and asked for an internship during his senior year of high school. He was hooked. And when David’s hockey team won the WAHA state championship, it was especially cool to hear the newsman recap the score, since David was in the studio.
After graduating from high school, David attended the University of Minnesota and majored in Journalism and Mass Communication. At Minnesota, he started a sports department at the student radio station and worked as a sports reporter for the Minnesota Daily.
