ST. JOSEPH, Mich. -- A 38-year-old Indiana man killed after falling from a fifth floor balcony at Silver Beach Hotel over the weekend has been identified.

The St. Joseph Department of Public Safety Monday said David Ginter of Hebron, Ind. was the victim.

A press release from the hotel Sunday morning said Ginter was a repeat guest.

"We all knew him by name and it is with deep sadness this morning to know that we will not be seeing him here again," the original press release said.

Ginter fell around 8:45 p.m. Saturday night.

Police say when they arrived at the hotel the man was unresponsive and CPR was administered.

Ginter was taken to Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph, where he later died from his injuries.

Police say the incident is still under investigation, but foul play is not suspected.

Alcohol may have been a contributing factor, according to police.
