The bypass has now reopened after a 17-vehicle pileup at the 15 mile marker in Berrien Springs, says Michigan State Police. Click here for a map. This happened shortly after 8:37 a.m. Police told a WSBT photographer at the scene the crash was caused by a car that slowed down in the fog, causing a chain reaction. Only one person was taken to the hospital with a slight injury. Stay with us for updates

More victims are coming forward claiming a massage therapist in Berrien Springs sexually assaulted them. Johan Abrahams, 70, was arrested last week after one of his client's reported he had touched her in inappropriate places. Abrahams ran his massage therapy business out of his home on St. Joseph Avenue in front of the Berrien Springs football field. He was arrested Friday after a two-month investigation by police. He is charged with criminal sexual conduct after a 39-year-old women went to police saying Abraham inappropriately touched her in September and October.

A woman and two teenagers were extricated from a car after crashing on the U.S. 31 Bypass in Michigan. All three were taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend. The accident happened just after 11 a.m. Tuesday in the southbound lane near mile marker 15 in Berrien Springs. A Berrien County Sheriff's Department news release stated Sally Hendricks, 80, of South Bend, was driving on U.S. 31 and apparently reached for a water bottle, causing her to lose control of her 2007 Buick.

BERRIEN SPRINGS, Mich. - Police say a drunk driver drove into her own home in Berrien Springs. It happened shortly after 3 p.m. on Thursday. Officers were called to the 400 block of Michigan Ave. for a report of a vehicle that had just run into a house. The driver was a 40-year-old woman, although police have not released her name. Police do say the driver had a .16 blood alcohol level, twice the legal limit. She told investigators she had been trying to pull into her driveway when she hit her house.

Police say a crime spree in southwest Michigan - more than a month long - has come to an end with the arrest of two brothers. Johnathan Stefanovic, 24, and his 19-year old brother David Stefanovic were arrested Tuesday night. Johnathan is a graduate student at Andrews University. David has a previous record for assault in the state of Washington. The village of Berrien Springs is known as a fairly quiet, peaceful place...home of the world renowned Seventh Day Adventist Andrews University.

BERRIEN SPRINGS - A three year old child is dead after an apartment fire in Berrien Springs. Firefighters got the call around 6:20 this morning, but by the time they arrived in the 8700 block of Valley View Drive the building was fully engulfed. Before three family members were taken to the hospital, they told firefighters their 3-year-old daughter was still inside the burning home. WSBT's Kristin Bien has been at the fire all morning. She says firefighters have not been able to get into the home yet to find that missing child.

NILES - Berrien Springs massage therapist Johan Abrahams pleaded guilty Tuesday in Berrien County Trial Court to two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. Abrahams, 70, of St. Jo-seph Avenue in Berrien Springs, is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 21. Assistant Prosecutor Cara Wilkinson said Tuesday in court that she expects the guidelines to call for Abrahams to serve a sentence of between zero to 17 months in prison and registering as a sex offender. Fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct is considered a high court misdemeanor and carries a maximum penalty of two years in prison.

BERRIEN SPRINGS, Mich. - Michigan State police are investigating a multi-car crash that happened on Old U.S. 31 in Berrien County Wednesday afternoon. It happened just north of Berrien Springs, and police are urging drivers to avoid that area. 3 people were trapped. All were taken to Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. Berrien Springs and Orinoko police were called to the scene. Police say Old 31 was expected to be blocked to traffic because of the wreck until at least 7 p.m.

BERRIEN SPRINGS, Mich. - Andrews University is warning people about a man exposing himself on campus. Police say it happened Wednesday just before 7 p.m. on Garland Avenue in Berrien Springs. Police say the suspect is a white man in his early twenties, long blonde hair, with some facial hair wearing khaki shorts and a white t-shirt. Andrews University officials are reviewing campus videos to see if they can identify the man.

Nick Padla, a two-way standout at Berrien Springs, has been waiting almost a year for the start of football season. Padla wants to finally get rid of the memories of last year's disappointing 3-6 campaign.   “A 3-6 record is unacceptable,” Padla said. “That's all we thought about during the offseason was 3-6. We could have done so much better. “It's motivation going into this year. We have a chip on our shoulder.” Padla and teammate Jhon Williams lead a defense that could be one of the stronger units in the area.

EAU CLAIRE, Mich. - Workers at an Eau Claire factory were forced to evacuate Thursday night after a chimney caught fire. Firefighters were called to Hofmann Industries shortly after 10 p.m. Crews on the scene said flames were reported on the roof, but crews from Eau Claire and Berrien Springs were able to quickly bring the blaze under control. No injuries were reported, and there's no word on the amount of damage done.

In three weeks voters in Michigan will have to decide whether to include collective bargaining rights in their state constitution. It is one of the most controversial items on the ballot and could have a major impact on Michigan.   Here is what voters will see on the ballot: PROPOSAL 12-2 A PROPOSAL TO AMEND THE STATE CONSTITUTION REGARDING COLLECTIVE BARGAINING This proposal would: -Grant public and private employees the constitutional right to organize and bargain collectively through labor unions.
