One man dead. Three people injured. Four people in jail.  It's all the outcome of a fight turned deadly late Thursday night in Goshen. Daniel Heflin, 21, of Goshen is accused of murder.  His mother talked with WSBT Friday morning. Sherry Heflin said someone went to her son's home and asked him and his girlfriend, Elisa Horton, to help with a fight happening at an apartment complex in the 600 blk of River Ave. She claimed someone told her son a 17-year-old girl was being beaten by a family member.  "They came to help, that's all they did," Sherry Heflin told WSBT.  Art Vargas said he witnessed the incident from his front porch across the street.  "There were shots fired and that's when I went back in and told my wife, 'You need to get somebody out here because I thought I heard some gunshots.  This is escalating really quick,'" he recalled.

It uses ground-penetrating radar to search under sidewalks for the vaults. The city hopes to determine if there are more of them after a business owner fell through a sidewalk after it collapsed last year. The city has already found 49 underground vaults. As part of the program, people are allowed to drop off everything from old appliances, computers, tires, furniture, microwaves, old TVs and refrigerators at the Street Department. In past years, especially during spring cleaning season, those items would somehow wind up in alleys, ditches, or empty lots. “We're constantly getting stuff, picked up whether it's out of the ditch lines,” said Denny Long of the Goshen Street Department.
