Concerns over possible flooding problems this weekend have one city doing something to help homeowners. The Goshen Street Department is offering sandbags this weekend. There is some concern with the heavy snow this week, warming temperatures, and rain this weekend there could be some localized flooding. You can get the sandbags at the Street Department on Steury Avenue... But you have to fill them and transport them yourselves. Again, they don't expect wide-spread flooding, but want to be prepared for localized flooding.

New details about a woman Goshen police say was gunned downed by her former fiance. Friends and family paid their respects Friday to Millicent Morros of Goshen. The 48-year old was killed Monday morning on her way to work by her ex-lover, 51-year-old John Eric Haitsma. WSBT's talked with Millicent's sister, Shelby Engelberg. She shared some thoughts about what happened to Millicent. Engelberg said Millicent enjoyed taking care of her garden and loved her cats - cats Engelberg is now caring for. Police say Haitsma approached Morros when she got out of her car. They talked briefly, then Haitsma, a former Goshen police officer, pulled out a gun and shot her before killing himself.

ELKHART -- The boyfriend of a woman shot and killed by her apparent ex-lover said the gunman kept texting and calling Millicent Morros in recent days and even showed up at her Goshen workplace last week. “I think if she was taking it seriously she probably would've done something different this morning,” said Dennis Butler, who was in a relationship with Morros since early February. Butler said he and Morros talked recently about how Eric Haitsma, who police described as the shooter in Monday's murder-suicide, kept pursuing Morros, even after the two ended what Butler described as a difficult relationship.

GOSHEN - The first round of layoffs at Cequent Performance Products in Goshen will happen on Friday. That's when the union is set to vote on the closure package offered by the company. If they approve the deal, the union would drop a federal lawsuit. If they don't, the two sides would go to arbitration as planned in April. Cequent's parent company, TriMas, announced last year it will close the plant and move production to Mexico. 450 people worked there at that time.

GOSHEN - Hundreds of jobs may be a step closer to leaving Elkhart County. A federal judge on Wednesday ruled Cequent Towing can continue to move equipment out of its Goshen plant as it prepares to move the work to Mexico. The United Steelworkers Union asked for an injunction to stop the company from moving out any equipment or tools until there can be arbitration. The judge said while the court sympathized with union members who may lose their jobs, the union did not establish irreparable harm or the hardship necessary to grant the injunction.
