NEW YORK (AP) - Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords will give her first TV interview since being shot in January to Diane Sawyer of ABC News. Giffords, shot in the head while meeting with constituents on Jan. 8, will be interviewed with her husband, astronaut Mark Kelly. ABC said Monday that the discussion will air as part of a prime-time special Nov. 14. That's the night before a book by Giffords and Kelly will be published. It's titled "Gabby: A Story of Courage and Hope.

NEW YORK (AP) — CBS says Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg will appear in his first television interview since the feature film about him and the creation of his company premiered this fall. His interview will air Sunday on "60 Minutes. " The network said Wednesday that Zuckerberg will talk about "The Social Network," which featured a dark portrayal of him by Jesse Eisenberg, as well as the direction he's taking his company and his status as one of America's most influential figures.

NOTRE DAME - Despite a busy schedule of classes, homework and activities, some Notre Dame students found time to watch Manti Te'o's interview with Katie Couric, an interview that aired on WSBT-TV. So what's the take-away? WSBT's Ted Land visited the campus to get reaction. A lot of Irish fans supported Te'o all along, even from day one when the story of the girlfriend hoax broke. And for them, the interview really didn't make them change their minds.

South Bend School Board members will get a chance to meet with the possible newest board member tonight. The Board will hold its first round of interviews for the 2nd district seat starting at 4:30 this afternoon at the administration building on St. Joseph Street, downtown. This meeting is open to the public, but you won't be allowed to ask questions or comment. Each candidate is asked to make a three minute presentation.  Board members will ask questions.

South Bend Tribune Sports Writer Eric Hansen became part of the national story surrounding Notre Dame football star Manti Te'o. Hansen wrote a story for the Tribune in October that described the first time Manti and Lennay met, details got from Te'o's father.   WSBT asked him for his impression of Te'o's interview with Katie. He said he believes Te'o. “This is a kid who made so many decisions in his life based upon faith that weren't pragmatic decisions,” said Hansen.

In the days after the Manti Teo story broke I was having trouble getting something from the back of my mind to the front.  Where had I heard some of this before, something about phone calls and someone dying and somehow it was connected to Manti?   I have known him as a student since he arrived on campus; it was a very casual friendship where we often chatted about family, faith and his schoolwork though, as I recall, we never talked football.  I really liked him and how he handled himself, always finding time for anyone he ran into on campus and he had a real knack for remembering names.  He was like a big kid just having fun in the moment and his place at Notre Dame.

Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o will be interviewed by Katie Couric, the first on-camera interview given by the All-American since news broke about the dead girlfriend hoax.   Te'o and his parents will appear on Couric's syndicated talk show Thursday at 4 p.m. on WSBT-TV.   Te'o gave an off-camera interview with ESPN on Friday night. He insists he was the victim of the hoax, not a participant. The Heisman Trophy runner-up said he had an online romance with a woman he never met and in September was informed that the woman died from leukemia.
