A 9-year-old LaGrange County girl's condition is now listed as “good” at Riley Hospital for Children-IU Health, where she's being treated for injuries from a June 8 car crash near Middlebury. Alia Villalobos was in critical condition when she was transferred to Riley from Memorial Hospital of South Bend. She was airlifted to Memorial after she and four others were injured in a two-car crash on June 8 at S.R. 15/U.S. 20. Elkhart County police say the driver of their car, 28-year-old Laura Ryan of LaGrange, was taken to Goshen General Hospital along with 2-year-old Darwin Villalobos, 7-year-old George Ryan and 9-year-old Kitana Ryan.

A motorcyclist who failed to stop when requested to do so by a Goshen Police officer Sunday night was later arrested, but not before the officer crashed his car during a high-speed pursuit. The incident began at 8:02 p.m. on Kercher Road between County Roads 31 and 33 in Goshen. Roughly 13 minutes later, Officer Christopher Juroff crashed his car in LaGrange County, in the area of 11694 West 800 South. Police say Juroff's car crashed because of a sudden change in road elevation.

A 9-year-old LaGrange County girl has been taken to Riley Hospital for Children-IU Health in Indianapolis after she and four others were injured in a two-car crash west of Middlebury Friday afternoon. Alia Villalobos of LaGrange is listed in critical condition two days after the collision at the S.R. 15/U.S. 20 intersection, a hospital spokesman told WSBT. Elkhart County police say the driver of their car, 28-year-old Laura Ryan of LaGrange, was taken to Goshen General Hospital along with 2-year-old Darwin Villalobos, 7-year-old George Ryan and 9-year-old Kitana Ryan.

SHIPSHEWANA - Police have released the name of a baby who was killed and three of his family members injured when their buggy collided with a semi Monday on State Road 120 just west of County Road 675 W. in LaGrange County. CLICK HERE FOR A MAP This happened around noon. Police say Jerry R. Hendricks of Bronson, Michigan was driving his semi eastbound on S.R. 120 when he passed the buggy, which was heading in the same direction. For an unknown reason the buggy turned into the path of the semi, hitting the back portion of its trailer.

The list of counties ordering people to stop burning keeps growing. It now stands at 18 across Indiana, 10 in the WSBT-TV region of Northern Indiana. CLICK HERE for Indiana burn ban map (through IN.gov) As of Friday night ... St. Joseph County and nine other northern Indiana counties also have burning bans: Elkhart, Fulton, Kosciusko, LaGrange, LaPorte, Marshall, Noble, Steuben and Wabash.   LaPorte County is the latest to issue a ban on burning, joining Elkhart, LaGrange and Kosciusko and St. Joseph counties in declaring disaster emergencies due to the drought.

Just how healthy is the county you live in? A new study breaks down nearly every county in the country. The Robert Wood Johnson report released Wednesday looked at 25 factors, including childhood poverty, obesity and smoking rates, as well as social and economic factors, like graduation and crime rates to rank counties. St. Joseph County, Indiana came in average, placing 43rd out of 92 counties. That's the same ranking the county received last year, which has some health providers concerned.

Authorities say he faked his own death and then fled the country to avoid being arrested, only to be caught two years later and halfway around the world. So how did a LaGrange County man elude police for so long? Nathan Lumbard is being accused of some very serious crimes - arson and identity theft just to name a couple. But from what WSBT learned today, getting away was easier than you might think. It's just one of the crimes Howe, Indiana local Nathan Lumbard is being accused of - Robbing a Sturgis restaurant and setting Welch's Steaks and Ribs on fire nearly two years ago. According to Bovo Bail Bonds, Lumbard was arrested for the crime and got out on a $205,000 bond - only to skip town, evade police, and leave a business in ruins...

LAGRANGE COUNTY - In crime watch, Indiana State Police need your help in solving a case involving the desecration and destruction of several tombstones in LaGrange County. Investigators sent pictures taken at Pretty Prairie Cemetery located in Howe. Police say vandals knocked over and damaged dozens of tombstones that date back to the 1800's. One of the tombstones was carried into the middle of the road and then smashed on the ground. Anyone with information is asked to call the LaGrange County Sheriff or Crime Stoppers.
