MISHAWAKA - A fire destroyed the building. Now, a completely new problem at the old RMG Foundry site in Mishawaka - scrappers. WSBT is told there is now a security guard on site 24 hours a day. And we're told by an employee that the security guard has had to keep scrappers out of the building. We also have learned the fire investigator, a state fire marshal, and private investigators won't be back on scene for two weeks. The delay is to make sure everyone who had cars, boats, or RV's in the building has been notified.

MISHAWAKA - Eat, live and play. It's a new trend of living in a lot of big cities, and now that concept is coming to Toscana Park in Mishawaka. Construction is underway for a hundred new apartments off Gumwood Road, and businesses in that area are already welcoming the extra traffic flow. The concept is easy: You can go grocery shopping, go to the gym or out to a nice dinner and it's all just a few feet away from where you live. Developers say these high-end apartments will change the dynamic of Toscana Park, and businesses in there can't wait to cash in on all the new tenants.

MISHAWAKA - Following a huge fire at a former Mishawaka foundry, people who kept vehicles inside the building for storage are beginning to assess the damage to their property. The RMG Foundry has been closed for a number of years. Most recently, the building was being used to store hundreds of cars, trucks, R-V's and boats. Bill Tobolski stored two boats in the building, and he estimates his losses at about $30,000. Tobolski says he found out about the fire from a friend.
