Pete Byrne

Pete Byrne brings his unique perspective and a passion for sports to viewers every night, as WSBT-TV's sports director. More than a decade of sport journalism experience has taken Pete to the Super Bowl, MLB opening day, playoffs in all four major sports, the PGA Tour, the Frozen Four, the Final Four, and the BCS. However, the best part of covering sports for WSBT is being home and following the teams he really loves. Pete grew up in South Bend and went to high school at Trinity where he played basketball, baseball and just a little soccer.

                                        WSBT sports director Pete Byrne sat down with Brian Kelly for an exclusive interview before the Irish football team left for Ireland. Kelly discusses the  season opener against Navy with Pete, and looks ahead to his third season at Notre Dame.                                           Kelly shares the pluses and minuses of being the head coach at Notre Dame, and how close he thinks his team is to becoming a championship-caliber team.

Skylar Diggins is without question, one of the best college basketball players in the country. She's also, undoubtedly, the most popular.
