Just after 1 a.m. Monday, Niles Police were called to a single-vehicle accident scene in the 1800 block of Terminal Road near Renaissance Drive. Police say 31-year-old Jason Wright of Niles apparently ran off the road, flipping his pickup truck several times. Wright was ejected from the truck and killed. Police say speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash, but the investigation is ongoing. A man eventually took himself to a local hospital for treatment of injuries he received after the pickup truck he was driving left Capital Avenue and plunged down a roughly 40-foot embankment and into a pond early Monday morning. The mishap occurred about 12:40 a.m. Monday. The pond is roughly 300-feet off Capital Avenue and about midway between Jefferson Boulevard and Lincoln Way East in Mishawaka, close to Darnell Lake Drive. The man, who was alone in the truck, left the accident scene before emergency workers arrived and later went to the hospital.

GRANGER - St. Joseph County police are looking for the driver of a pickup truck that slammed into a utility pole on Grape Road Sunday morning. Around 6:30 a.m., police were called to Grape and Barton St, just north of Cleveland Road. A county dispatcher tells WSBT no one was inside the truck, but power lines were hanging very low across Grape when emergency crews arrived on the scene. The dispatcher said the truck was locked. American Electric Power was immediately called to help remove the lines and repair possible power outages in the area.

Two drivers were taken to the hospital following an accident this morning in Marshall County. Police say the accident happened on US 30 and Pioneer Road in Plymouth. The driver of a large pickup truck rear-ended a box truck. The pickup truck was hauling a large semi engine in its bed. That engine went through the cab and pinned the driver during the collision. Crews had to cut him out of the pickup truck and he was airlifted to a local hospital. Police say the driver of the box truck was also taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY - A motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital Friday after a pickup truck hit his bike at the intersection of Jefferson and Bittersweet Roads. The pickup truck was heading south and the motorcycle was heading west when they collided. A WSBT reporter on the scene said the motorcycle rider broke his leg and was taken to an area hospital. It is still unknown if he was wearing a helmet. WSBT has a crew on the scene and we will provide updates as we receive them.

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY - 2 people were badly hurt when their pickup truck crashed into a semi on State Road 331, south of Mishawaka. According to a witness, the pickup truck was heading north shortly before noon Tuesday when it suddenly drifted into the southbound lanes, striking the oncoming semi. The witness was driving behind the pickup at the time of the collision near Layton Road. St. Joseph County police say Larry Evans, 36, of Hitchins, Kentucky was driving the pickup.

A moving company truck, stalled on I-80 at the 12.8 mile marker in Lake County during rush hour Tuesday evening, was first sideswiped by a semi and then rear-ended by an extended cab pickup truck. The pickup truck driver, Joshua Garner, 20, of Griffith, Ind., died at the scene. Police said Garner was changing lanes when his truck hit the rear of the moving truck. Indiana State Police reported when the moving truck from Two Men and A Truck company stalled in the middle right lane of the four-lane highway, its driver DeAndre Perry, 22, of Mishawaka, activated the truck's four-way emergency lights.

One person is dead after a crash in Edwardsburg. It happened just after 11 Friday night on U.S. 12 east of Eagle Lake Road. Police say a pickup truck traveling east crossed the center line, hitting a semi. A third vehicle also hit the truck. The pickup burst into flames and the driver was ejected. That person died at the scene. Their name is being withheld pending family notification. Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor. They are still investigating the crash.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Police say a 30-year-old man was fatally shot inside a pickup truck at a convenience store on the west side of Indianapolis. Officers were called to the store about 3 a.m. Friday, where the passenger in the truck was shot while it was stopped at a gasoline pump. Speedway police Sgt. Jim Thiele says investigators were looking for a car that sped away from the store. Thiele says the slain man and a friend driving the truck stopped at the store after leaving a nearby nightclub but that investigators didn't immediately know whether the shooting stemmed from something that happened there.
