ROSELAND - A federal jury has found the owner of the American Pancake House in Roseland guilty of sexual harassment, battery and retaliation. 3 employees filed complaints against Nick Kladis. The jury awarded Angela Heyne punitive damages of $12,000 for her claims, and Angela King was awarded the same amount. However, Stacy DeVreese was not awarded anything. The jury supported Kladis in that complaint. A hearing in the future will be set to determine what will happen with back wages.

GRANGER - A popular Granger restaurant extends an olive branch to nursing mothers after an incident last Sunday left many of them outraged. A customer complained about a woman breastfeeding her child in the dining area. That's when an employee stepped in. Managers wouldn't say what was said between the two, but we do know that the mother got upset and left. State law says women can breastfeed in any public or private area. Restaurant managers say they recognize that right and showed it with a special event.

SOUTH BEND -- A popular 24-hour restaurant must change the way it treats its employees, especially women, after a discrimination lawsuit. Nick's Patio recently agreed to pay a former employee thousands of dollars to make up for what happened when her managers found out she was going to have a baby. “It just kind of got around the restaurant that I was pregnant and then my hours got cut,” said Tiffany Williams, who worked at Nick's as a hostess in 2010. Williams said her paycheck was cut in half, and then she was fired.

SOUTH BEND -- It's a move that could add more tension to a standoff between South Bend and a downtown business owner. Jersey Mike's is still open in the former College Football Hall of Fame building. The hall of fame left South Bend in December for its new home in Atlanta, Ga. But shop owner Bob Guros tells us that the city won't give him a key to his sandwich shop -- so a keyholder has to unlock the door for workers in the morning and lock up at night. Guros says it's a clumsy process.
