Thank you for your kind words. It has been great to be a part of the WSBT family for nearly ten years and I have treasured each moment with my co-workers (and you, the viewers.)   My family and I will be relocating to central Indiana to work for a family business venture. This will hopefully allow me to be home more to see my young kids.   My last day was Friday. I am so relieved to know that Rick Schutt and Jennifer Copeland will be joining Cindy upon my departure.

They say records were made to be broken, but it took awhile to top this mark. Heading into Tuesday, the hottest it had ever been in South Bend on September 10 was 96° way back in 1897. 116 years later, we hit an all-time high for this date of 97°, according to WSBT Chief Meteorologist Paul Emmick. Tuesday's brutal combination of heat and humidity forced several local middle and high schools to cancel sporting events and practices. Many school corporations told WSBT they follow Indiana High School Athletic Association guidelines pretty closely.

WSBT has been assigned the Bears game by CBS  on 9/8 .  If you're a Bears fan, you're thrilled.  If you're a Colts fan, not so much.   It's always a difficult situation for us at WSBT when both the Colts and the Bears are playing in the same window on CBS.  Because of the number of fans of both teams in our viewing area, many people are disappointed when this happens.   As you may recall, WSBT has been in this situation a few times the last few years and no matter which game we have, there is a contingent of fans who are upset that their game isn't on.  We understand, but we can, unfortunately, only air one game.
