Notre Dame will open up the 2013 NCAA Tournament on Friday night, when the Irish face Iowa State at 9:45 PM ET in Dayton, Ohio. The game will be televised on WSBT-TV. Other NCAA tournament 2nd round games featuring area teams that will carried on WSBT-TV include Valparaiso vs Michigan State (Thur, 12:15 PM) and South Dakota State vs Michigan (Thur, 7:15 PM). Indiana will face the winner of LIU-Brooklyn and James Madison at 4:10 PM Friday on TBS. Butler will face Bucknell at 12:40 PM Thursday on TruTV.

In his first television interview since it was revealed that his girlfriend never existed, Notre Dame football star and Heisman trophy runner-up Manti Te'o talks to Katie Couric about the controversy that has everyone talking. Katie sat down with Te'o and his parents, Brian and Ottilia Te'o, who are speaking out for the first time in this “Katie” exclusive. Katie's special interview with Te'o airs Thursday at 4 p.m. on WSBT-TV. WSBT's Jennifer Copeland has a one-on-one interview with Katie Couric today, which will air tonight at 5 and 6 on Channel 22. Diane is thrilled to be back on the air in Michiana at WSBT. Although Diane has been a Michiana resident since 1989, she's spent the majority of those years commuting to Kalamazoo where she was the weekend anchor at WWMT-TV. While working in Michigan, Diane's news contributions were honored by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the Associated Press. If Diane looks familiar to you, it may be because she worked at WSJV-TV in the early 1990s (also picking up awards from the Associated Press for her news coverage.)

Debra Daniel began her broadcasting career in radio, right after graduating from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. She has also reported the news at WTVF-TV in Tennessee, and WAAY-TV and WJSU-TV in Alabama. Debra joined WSBT in 1994. She anchors WSBT News at 5, 10 and 11. You can also see her Your Health Matters reports on WSBT News at 5 and 11. Debra’s father is a retired military officer, which meant the family traveled all over the country when she was a girl.

Clifton French joined the WSBT News team in December 2009. He graduated from Ball State University with a degree in telecommunications and political science. While at Ball State, Clifton anchored and reported for the university's Emmy Award-winning Newswatch program. He also reported, anchored and produced for East Central Indiana's NewsLink Indiana. Clifton grew up in Lebanon, Indiana and joined the Army National Guard as a cannon crew member during his senior year of high school.

John Paul is an award-winning reporter. He joined the WSBT team in July, 2008. Previously, John had been reporting nightly for WKBN-TV in Youngstown, Ohio. A native of Northeast Ohio, John graduated from Kent State University. While at Kent, John reported and anchored on the weekly civics news show NewsOhio, produced in conjunction with the School of Journalism and PBS affiliates WEAO/WNEO and WVIZ-TV. He also worked behind the scenes as an assignment editor for WOIO-TV.

Alyssa is a reporter for WSBT News First Thing in the Morning. She joined the news team in August 2009. She enjoys reporting because she's able to meet new people, see interesting things, and learn about a variety of topics. She likes how every day is different. As a general assignment reporter, Alyssa covers a wide range of stories. Alyssa got her start in news at Logansport's WSAL/WLHM radio and most recently worked as the morning anchor/reporter for WLFI-TV in West Lafayette.

Employees at J-Mar Designs custom wood products evacuated the building at 6:30 a.m. Monday, after the company’s dust collection system caught on fire. Jefferson Township firefighters are still on the scene, at 21594 Beck Drive, as of 7:30 a.m., according to an Elkhart County emergency services dispatch supervisor. No one was injured, according to Alyssa Rossomme, WSBT-TV reporter at the scene. BENTON HARBOR - The disputed Benton Harbor mayor's race recount begins Thursday at 2 p.m. Incumbent Wilce Cook has filed the paperwork for a recount after losing to James Hightower by eight votes. SOUTH BEND - A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a truck early Wednesday morning. Police say they arrived at the intersection between Ireland Road and Fellows at 7:53 a.m. and found a man lying next to his motorcycle.
